Question:
Are SRX900 cabinets and rigging components finished with a polymer protection coating?
Answer:
None of the SRX900 cabinets use a polymer protection coating. The plastic enclosures receive a painted finish over the polypropylene cabinet. This paint serves several purposes:
- Improve resistance to sunlight (UV)
- Match the color of the Duraflex finish used on subs (SRX918S, SRX928S, SRX915SF, SRX918SF) and point‑source models (SRX912M, SRX915M, SRX922)
- Covers-up minor surface imperfections from the molding process
The rigging components are also not polymer‑coated. Instead, they go through multiple zinc‑plating steps prior to painting. This zinc‑plating process provides the corrosion resistance for all metal hardware.
