Description:
The Rotary is found in the COMMON CONTROLS section of the CONTROL LIBRARY of the UI DESIGN view.

Adding the Rotary Control
After a panel has been created, click and drag the Rotary from the CONTROL LIBRARY onto a panel page workspace.

This is the default Rotary, and this exclamation point means that there is control assigned yet.

Assigning a Parameter
In the PARAMETERS TREE in the left pane, expand the devices section or use the search function to locate the parameter to associate with the Rotary.

To assign the gain function of this Gain object to the Rotary, click and drag the parameter directly onto the Rotary. The exclamation point will go away when a parameter is assigned.

Properties
The Rotary object's coordinates and size can be changed here, or by directly clicking on the Rotary and moving it around the workspace and using the handles to resize.

The Show Scale option will display the default scale for the bound parameter. The text style and color of the scale can be adjusted in the SCALE section of the PROPERTIES. The Padding option can be adjusted to increase or decrease the space between the control and the scale.

The thumb on the Rotary object is the handle which is dragged to make adjustments to the level. The color and width of the thumb can be adjusted in the THUMB section of the PROPERTIES.

The track on the Rotary object is the circular element around which the thumb moves. The active and background colour, and size can be adjusted in the TRACK section of the PROPERTIES.

The range of the parameter bound to the Rotary can be restricted by enabling the Use Subrange option. The maximum and minimum values can be entered in the SUBRANGE section of the PROPERTIES.

The Drag Sensitivity of the Rotary object will determine the granularity in the movement of the thumb. The Drag Sensitivity can be adjusted in the BEHAVIOUR section of the PROPERTIES. A low value will result in finer steps and slower movement when the Rotary is adjusted. A higher value results in larger steps and faster movement.

The name and path of the parameter bound to the Rotary object is displayed in the PARAMETER BINDING section of the PROPERTIES.
