Models:

  • Soundweb OMNI

Overview:

The hardware in the Soundweb OMNI products need to be factory reset after their first firmware upgrade to a release candidate version.

Description:

If your Soundweb OMNI was shipped with v197.4, you will need to install the Release Candidate version of AVX Suite and use that version to update the device firmware.  This will address an issue with Private Dante routing and Default Dante interface names being appended with a ‘-A’.  The 512p has two Dante interfaces, each supporting 256 channels.  With this firmware patch, only the 512p will append the Dante device name with a ‘-A’ or ‘-B’ to designate which Dante interface it is.

Prerequisites:

  • Device was shipped with firmware version 197.4
  • Latest Release Candidate of AVX Suite
  • Active Internet connection

Procedure:

  1. Backup any project files created in AVX Architect
  2. Uninstall any current pre-release versions of AVX Suite
  3. Download and install the current release candidate of AVX Suite
  4. Configure your PC network settings for communication with the OMNI device. If you are unsure how this is done refer to the following article:
AVX Architect - Network Setup & Troubleshooting for Soundweb OMNI Hardware
  5. Update the device firmware. If you are unsure how this is done refer to the following article:
AVX Manager - Updating Firmware of HControl Devices
  6. Once the firmware has been updated and the device has finished rebooting, preform a Factory Reset using the front panel of the device [Press and hold the Encoder and Back Arrow for 20 seconds]. This must be done through the front panel as this will rename the device which is needed to resolve the issue.
  7. Use AVX Architect to import and deploy your backed up project.  If you are unsure how this is done refer to the following articles:
    AVX Architect - Dashboard Basics
AVX Architect - Deploying a Project to Hardware
  8. Your Private Dante routes will now work as expected.
