Why does the RMS 4.8.x installer fail to detect Java when using OpenJDK 11.x.x?

The JAVA_HOME parameter was not set during installation of OpenJDK.
To resolve, re-run the installer for OpenJDK and ensure that the option for 'set JAVA_HOME variable' is set to 'install on this device' and apply changes.​
