Description:
VoIP is available on both the OMNI 256p and 512p processors. The only difference between their VoIP capabilities is the available channel count. The OMNI 256p has 32 channels of VoIP, while the 512p has 64 channels.
SYSTEM View:
In the SYSTEM view, select the processor in the workspace.

In the PROPERTIES section of the right pane, a section for VoIP is provided.

One important note concerns a setting above the VoIP section: Network Traffic Mode.

This setting is significant because, by default, VoIP is configured to operate on the secondary HControl port.
This can be changed to allow VoIP on both ports in cases of daisy-chaining processors or to isolate VoIP and HControl. Refer to the article on Network Traffic Modes for additional information.
Within the VoIP properties, most settings do not require modification and will be covered in greater detail in a separate article.
Here, the Domain Name or IP address of the VoIP domain is displayed, along with the Proxy Address if a proxy is used.

Transport Type allows manual selection between AUTO, TCP, UDP, or TLS.
VoIP CPU Configuration enables changing the VoIP interface between DHCP and a static address.

VIRTUAL View:
The VoIP object can be found can be found in the VIRTUAL view, under the Conferencing section of the VIRTUAL LIBRARY.

This provides both a VoIP input and output object.

In the PROPERTIES pane, the usual naming, workspace location, and DSP allocation settings are available.

The OPTIONS section allows modification of various tones from the default tone.
End Tone plays when a call ends.

Ring Tone is the sound of the ringer.

Answer Tone plays when a call connects.

Switching these from the default tone to a custom tone adds an input node to the output block that can be fed with a tone generator or media player object.

The DTMF Mode can be changed under the tones section. The default mode is Out of Band, but In Band, SipInfo, or None are also options.

DTMF can also be set to have a fixed length with defined on and off times. Setting the fixed length to Off causes the DTMF to play as long as a button is pressed.

The Codec setting is Automatic by default, allowing the processor to detect the best codec for a call, but this can be changed to a specific codec.

User Name, Authentication Name, and Password for the line are provided, as well as a Display Name, which is the name shown when placing or receiving a call.
