Description:
A Parameter Link represents a one-to-one mapping of parameters of a similar type. Parameter Links can exist within a single object or link parameters across multiple objects.
This example uses a mixer with multiple channels.

To link some of these faders or mutes for this application, first open the Parameter and Object Links window by clicking the Linking button in the top right of the VIRTUAL View window.

The left side of the Parameter and Object Links window contains the list of links.

Currently, there are none, but a new link can be created by clicking the plus sign and selecting Add Parameter Link.

The new Parameter Link will appear in the list as Parameter Link 1.

Right-clicking a Parameter Link allows renaming, deletion, or moving it to another host device.

Rename this one to Fader Link. Links cannot share the same name and must use unique identifiers.

Once the Parameter Link is created the faders can be added to the link. Setting up Parameter Links must be done offline. Open the mixer object factory panel, then enable the Selection Mode Switch.

Next, right-click the fader and select Add to Link.

Use the drop-down menu to select the Fader Link that was created.

Link the remaining faders in the same manner.
Once the faders are linked, this will appear in the Parameter and Object Links window under the Fader Link entry.

Bringing up the factory panel for the mixer and disabling selection mode will show that the faders are linked and reflect the same values.

Exact values is the default link type and can be changed in the Parameter and Object Links window. Click the icon next to the Parameter Link name where it says Exact to change the link type.
Setting this to Soft will maintain the relative level between the faders while still allowing them to move together.
Next, link some of the mutes and review the other link types. Parameter Links can also be created directly from the object’s factory panel. Enable selection mode and right-click the mute button of the first channel, then select Create New Link.

There will be an option to name the link and select the link type. Name the link Mute Link and set the type to Radio one on.

Link the remaining mutes to the Mute Link. Leave selection mode and enable one of the mutes. Notice that only one mute can and must be active at any time.

This is the behavior of the Radio one on link type. In the Parameter and Object Links window, change the link type of the Mute Link to review the other link types. Radio one or none on is similar to Radio one on, where only one mute can be active at once, but it now allows no mutes to be active, hence one or none.

Radio one off means that all mutes will be active except one that must be off.

Finally, Radio one or none off is similar to Radio one off, but with the option to set all mutes to active.

Parameter Links can also be turned on and off. In the Parameter and Object Links window, click the button in the top right of the window to open the Links Panel.

The Links Panel presents all Parameter Links along with an On/Off status button.

Clicking this to turn it gray disables the link, and the faders will no longer move together.

This Links Panel also includes a selection mode switch, allowing the On/Off button to be used in GPI control or incorporated into a custom control panel.
