Question:
Why am I unable to pass video from a Mac to a non-HDCP compliant display with N2400 series?
Answer:
By default, Macs (and some other source devices) will enable HDCP when a device in the chain shows as HDCP compliant. This can introduce negotiation issues when passing content to a display which does not support HDCP.
N2400 firmware version 1.5.60 or newer, adds support for commands to toggle the HDCP advertising of the connected encoder as needed. This allows for the source device to be informed that HDCP is not supported, enabling non-HDCP content to be passed from a Mac (or other similar source device).
The commands to toggle HDCP advertising are as follows:
- setSettings:VIDIN_HDCP:enable
- setSettings:VIDIN_HDCP:disable
