Question:
How do I get a DMX profile for my Martin product to use with 'X' brand DMX controller?
Answer:
For any DMX controllable product in our portfolio, we publish a table of raw DMX channel/values/functions in the relevant product user guide.
This will enable you to control the features of that fixture using a standard 'analogue/fader' type DMX controller that does not have pre-mapped profiles.
For any 'profile' driven controller it is down to the manufacturer of that specific DMX controller (which is usually PC based) to provide a pre-mapped 'profile' for that specific fixture.
This ensures that it is working on their specific controller. Matching their control system/GUI/code behind the scenes.
Some manufacturers also give you an option of manually creating a 'user-made' profile - which you can create based on the raw DMX channel/values/functions we have provided in the user manual.
You will always be able to control a fixture in 'raw' DMX mode but having a profile saves a lot of programming work.
Some newer DMX controllers can use GDTF files instead of a traditional DMX profile.
For Martin fixtures that can use be used with GDTF files please see this link:

If you require a DMX profile for an old Martin branded controller (for example Martin M-PC or M1 controller) you need to go to Elation for support/download.
