This article provides an overview of the rear panel of the OMNI 16e and 32e Expanders.

Power and Networ​​k

Each Expander includes a power supply connection and dual redundant Dante and HControl ports.

USB connections are located on the rear panel of the Expanders. These ports currently have no functionality and are intended only for service and repair technicians.

Pressing the Locate button causes the LEDs on the front of the Expander to flash. The Expander also flashes in AVX Manager, and pressing this button can be used to trigger logic sequences and events.

GPIO​​

OMNI Expanders provide different amounts of available GPIO.

The OMNI 16e includes 12 GPIO connections, two ground connections, and two 5-volt reference connections.

The OMNI 32e includes 24 GPIO connections, four ground connections, and four 5-volt reference connections.

​​Audio

Expanders include inputs and outputs for analog and AES3 digital audio.

Green connections are designated for inputs.

Orange connections are designated for outputs.

Blue connections can be configured as either inputs or outputs.

Each input and output can be individually configured as analog or digital in AVX Architect.

The pinout for these connections is shield, positive, and negative from left to right.
