Soundweb OMNI - Expander Front Panel Indicators and Menu Options

Written by Gary Brindley

Updated at December 14th, 2025

This article provides an overview of the front panel indicators and menu options available on the OMNI 16e and 32e I/O Expanders.

To the right of the screen, each Expander includes a rotary encoder and navigation buttons. To the left are status indicator lights.

The encoder displays a green light under normal operating conditions.

During the boot process, the light ring may show different colors. This will be covered in more detail in another article.

To the left of the screen, the indicator furthest to the left corresponds to the HControl Primary and Secondary ports.

The middle indicator corresponds to the Dante Primary and Secondary ports.

These indicators behave differently based on detected connections during boot. If only the primary connection is detected, the lights will be green to indicate a functioning connection. If both primary and secondary connections are detected, the lights will remain green for two functioning connections but will turn yellow if one connection is removed or interrupted.

The right indicator is the power supply indicator. Expanders have only one power supply, and therefore this light will only be green under normal operation

The buttons located beneath the indicators are used for navigating menus forward and backward.

The main screen will display input meters in groups of 8 along with information about the device.

To access the menu, press the encoder.

The first menu screen is the Status page. All accessible menus are displayed on the top bar of the screen.

The Status page is read-only and displays DSP and storage usage percentages, date and time, internal and CPU temperatures, firmware version, primary and secondary connection statuses for Dante and HControl, power supply indicators, and the device name.

The next page is the Alerts page, which lists faults and warnings along with the date and time they were reported.

Warnings can be cleared, but faults cannot.

The HControl page displays connection status indicators, IP addresses, gateways, subnets, and MAC addresses for each connection. Network information can be edited but the MAC address cannot be changed from this page. The bottom of the page shows the device name and network traffic mode.

The Dante page displays the two Dante ports with networking information and the Dante name for reference in Dante Controller.
