Question:
Why can't I see my network folders in Netlinx Studio on Windows 10 or Windows 11?
Answer:
This is due to a system policy in Windows.
Add a registry entry to allow Netlinx Studio to see the network drives.
- Click "Start" or go to the Windows search box and type Run, press Enter
- Type regedit, press Enter
- Go To HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
- Once you have made it to this location, right-click in the window to the right, select New, and then choose DWORD (32-bit) Value
- After choosing DWORD, you are given a place to type a name, the name must be EnableLinkedConnections
- Right-click on the new entry you just made and choose Modify...
- Change "Value data:" to 1 and click OK
- Your entry should now look like this:
- Choose File and Exit
- Reboot your computer
- Open Netlinx Studio and you should be able to see your Network Drives now
