- I-Tech 4x3500HDS
Summary:
4x3500HD BCA Engines may fail unexpectedly when turned on, especially if the output is shorted or otherwise stressed. All four channels may show a fault or clip warning.
- These failures were due to a manufacturer change to the LDO Voltage Regulator on the BCA Engine Main board. The changed part started being used in mid-2024, and some failures were noted in the field with amps built in late 2024.
- Production tests failed ~9% of units under test starting late October 2025. 452 passed and were allowed to ship until March 2026, when production was stopped to determine the cause of the failures
- All newer 4x3500HD amplifiers are free of this issue, that is, those manufactured as of the week of April 6, 2026 and later.
Existing BCA Engines in stock have been reworked to use the new part.
Troubleshooting:
- Please contact your dealer or HARMAN Tech Support to confirm the failure, and for service options.
- If the BCA Engines have failed, the will need to be replaced under normal service procedures.
