EON ONE Compact - Input Clipping Too Early on Firmware v.6.2.2
Table of Contents
Brand:
- JBL
Affected Products:
- EON ONE Compact
Summary:
Testing by one of our customer revealed differences between EON ONE Compact firmware versions 5.1.8 and 6.2.2. In version 6.2.2, the input signal reaches the input threshold (red LED - clipping indication) at a significantly lower level (around 11 dB) compared to version 5.1.8 (around 26 dB). Additionally, output levels differ when both versions are driven with the same input signal. This suggests that firmware 6.2.2 may have reduced headroom, potentially indicating a firmware-related issue.
Troubleshooting:
The internal investigation confirmed the issue and resolved the issue with a firmware update (v6.3.8), which was released in April, 2025. Units with a newer firmware should no longer not have this issue.
