Question:
Are the different DGX DXLINK cards and endpoints all compatible?
Answer:
There is no issue with using a mixture of 2k, 4k30 and 4k60 I/O cards in the same cage so long as the DXlink endpoints attached (if any) are supported for that card type:
- 2k I/O only support 2kTX/WP/RX and 4k30 WP/SDX/RX
- 4k30 I/O only support 4k30 WP/SDX/RX and 2kTX/WP/RX
- 4k60 I/O only support 4k60 TX/WP/RX
It is ok to have a combination of 2k/4k30/4k60 cards on the input or output side. The edid does need to be set properly on the inputs so that the sources aren't trying to pass a 4k60 signal to a 2k output for instance. This would not work. But a 2k signal can come in on the input side and be upscaled to 4k60 on the output side at a 4k60 RX. That would be fine. Or a 2k source connected to a 4k60 card (with edid set to All Resolutions) will pass a 2k signal through the 4k60 card to whatever is on the output side.
