Answer:
When using an Enova DGX alongside a 3rd party control system you can achieve the style Autopatch BCS control by following the procedure below:
- Use the control USB port or a RS232 adapter
- the USB port shows up as a com port, and your RS232 adapter will also
Then follow these steps using Putty or another terminal program:
- Connect to the appropriate com port at 115200,8,N,1 no flow control
- hit enter to get to the DGX Shell
- send, set shell_start_cmdstr_COM1=bcs
- Reboot DGX
The switcher will boot up, send itself the bcs command, and be in bcs mode ready to accept bcs style switching commands and queries
