In this video, we’re going to talk about the basics of creating control panels in the UI Design view. Control panels are the for define the functionality of the user interface through AVX Control, Contrio controllers, or Hornet controllers.
You can create a new panel by pressing this plus button, or the plus button at the top of this user interfaces window. Let’s go ahead and add a control panel. Once created, our User Interfaces window populates. At the top is our collection of Control Panels and their pages. Control Panels can have more than one page. To add a page, select the Control Panel, click the plus symbol, then select “Add Page to Selection”. This will add another page to our control panel. Pages for Control Panels are blank by default. When you add a Hornet Keypad or Contio controller, the page will simply mimic that of the selected controller. In the User Interfaces window, you can also right-click your controller to rename, duplicate, or delete it from the list of interfaces.
Selecting the Control Panel, you’ll see thumbnails of all the pages. In the Properties window, the name of the interface can be changed. Additionally, you can change the properties of the grid that shoes is displayed when modifying a page. Grid size can be set by this slider or by typing in the value in directly. The grid color can be set here by using the standard color picker or hex value, and the opacity value is set last here. When modifying a page, we also have some additional settings for the page here in the Properties window. The page can be named here at the top. Next is the screen resolution for the page. This resolution can be different for each page. Clicking this lock will keep the aspect ratio in place when adjusting. The 100% page width and height controls will span the page out to the rest of the screen that it’s on, but remember that this only resizes the white space around the page and not the controls. Lastly, the background fill color can be set here and opacity adjusted, just like the grid color.
