Overview:

The following instructions will walk you through a basic set up of the USBX out of the box to communicate with more than one USB designed amplifier.

Instructions:

1. Out of the box the USBX is set for DCHP mode and the security password is Crown123.     
2. Connect your USB amplifier, be it XTi, CDi, DSi or combination of to the USB port of the USBX.  The USBX has two USB Ports, if you have more than one amp we recommend using a powered USB Hub.  You will connect the USB Hub to the USB port on the USBX and your amps to the USB ports on the hub.
3. With a wireless connection made between your PC and the USBX, open Audio Architect 1.30 and click on the File tab in the upper right hand corner.
    
4. Scroll down and select Application Options.
   
5. Click Network Connectivity in the list of options on the left hand side.
   
6. In that Network Connectivity area you will see an area labeled Ethernet Devices.  That section may be blank or list All Adaptors.  If All Adaptors is present click on it with your mouse and click the Remove Connection button.
7. Now click the Add Connection button and you should now see the same looking page but now in the Ethernet Device window you should see the IP address of your wireless nic PC.  Highlight that with your mouse and click Add Connection.  Refer to the next two pictures below for step 5 and 6.
   
8. Once you added the IP address as shown below, click the OK button to leave this area.
   
9. Next step is to click on the NetSetter button in the top ribbon bar area of Audio Architect.  This is area you will see the USBX and the amplifiers connected in order to set the HiQnet address for the amplifiers.  All USB amplifiers when shipped from the factory have the same address so you will need to change them so there are no conflicts.
   
10. In the NetSetter area you will see the USBX and should start seeing all the Crown USB amplifiers you have connected populate.  Notice that NetSetter is indicating you have a HiQNet address conflict.  Again the reason is due to all USB amplifiers shipping with the same address.   
    
11. Changing the address can be done two ways.  1) Click the check box in the Random ID line next to each of the amps and the software will auto-assign an address.  2) Click on the address itself and you can type in the address you wish to use.  For this example I am using option 2.
12. By clicking on the ID number you can change the ID address.  For this example just made them 1 and 2.  Before the ID's take you will see a button in the lower right hand corner glow.  For those addresses to take click the Apply Current Edits.   
    
13. Now you will see your amplifiers listed with the ID changes and that the HiQnet Conflict has been corrected.  You can now close NetSetter.
    
14. Now with the Crown amplifiers addressed you will see them listed on the Discovered Devices line shown here in this picture.
    
15. By clicking the small white triangle next to the Discovered devices icon it will expand to show the amplifiers found.  Just click on one at a time and drag it over to the Room 1 tab on the right.       
    
16. Now click the Go Online button up in the Workflow ribbon bar to go live with the amplifiers to program as needed.
    1. After you click Go Online you will have some windows pop up.  The first is one called Save to Network, for this situation click No or Ignore.
    2. The next window that may pop up is flagging you that a firmware update is needed.  You will only see this window if the software detects an amplifier needs updating.  You can click yes to go ahead and perform the update.  Or click no; you can always go back later to update the firmware.   
       
17. The next option you will see is an R and an S on the amplifiers and under the rack as shown below.  The R stands for Receive from Device, the S stands for Send to Device.  If you did any pre-programming before you click Go Online then you want to click the S to send those settings to the amplifier.  If you know there are setting already in the amplifier click the R to receive those settings up into the software.  You can click the R and the S on each individual amplifier or just click the R or S under the rack.
    
18. You are now live with your amplifiers.
