Question:
How can my Crown CDi1000, CDi2000, or CDi4000 be unlocked?
The front panel is locked and pressing the Prev/Up and Next/Down buttons does not unlock it.
The access control password in Audio Architect has been lost so it cannot be added to a new venue.
Answer:
The Crown CDi amplifier requires a complete factory reset. Note that all settings, Presets and HiQnet Name will be lost. HiQnet Node Address will not be reset.
These amplifiers require a firmware transfer to be factory reset. When Access Control is enabled and the password is unknown, this can only be done using the CLoader program.
The zip file downloadable on the right includes the CLoader v2.19 and the v1.3.0.0 firmware files for CDi1000, CDi2000 and CDi4000.
WARNING: Failure to follow the instructions below will result in your amplifier becoming inoperable. If this occurs, it will be necessary to return the amplifier to a service center for re-programming.
DO NOT send CDi v1.3.0.0 firmware to any amplifier model other than CDi1000, CDi2000 or CDi4000.
DO NOT send CDi v1.3.0.0 firmware to any CDi1000, CDi2000 or CDi4000 that originally shipped with v1.4.0.0 (or higher) firmware. This version started rolling out in 2023.
