Si MADI/USB Combo Card DIP Switch Settings
Question:
What are the correct DIP switch settings on the Si MADI/USB Combo Card?
Answer:
With the current line of Si mixers (Si Impact, Si Performer, Si Expression), the only DIP switch combination that will operate correctly is the default settings: DIP switch 3 — OFF, DIP switches 2 & 4 — ON. This will configure the MADI Stagebox channels as 1-32 and the MADI USB channels as 33-64.
Note:
Although the MADI channels to and from USB are numbered 33-64, that is our internal buss number.
In the computer they will correspond to channels 1-32.
Switch 1 alters the syncing interaction between the MADI-USB Combo card and the mixer. As standard, the card should be set to sync to the mixer and as such, it should be set OFF.
To connect two consoles together using two MADI-USB Combo cards, for a master/slave type operation, the card within the master console should be set to sync to the Mixer (Switch 1 — OFF), and the slave console/card set to sync to the Card (Switch 1 — ON). The consoles will then need to be set to “Internal" (INT) on the master and “Option" (OPT) clocking respectively. The connection between the 2 consoles will need to be an Ethernet crossover-type cable.
