- PRX915
Summary:
One of our customer reported an issue when PRX900 amplifiers may overheat when internal temperatures reach approximately 42°C, causing the system to mute automatically until the temperature drops to a safe level.
Troubleshooting:
The Product Manager confirmed in the escalation that early mass-production units were affected by this issue. It has since been resolved through firmware updates as well as hardware modifications, with the supplier implementing changes to the amplifier modules. The updated hardware was tested at full volume under ambient temperatures of 45°C, and no shutdowns were observed.
However, the CN number is not specified in the escalation. The implemented hardware changes are as follows:
- C1, C202–C204 changed to 470 pF / 500V
- Added a thermal pad (30 x 20 mm) between the PFC heat sink and the backplane support
