Why do stream passwords with a symbol such as % & or # as the first character not pass video between encoder and decoder?
Answer:
Firmware on the devices will need to be updated to 1.5.9 or later to apply the fix relating to “Enhanced Stream Encryption, Command, and Device Password”, which will allow these characters to be used.
