Overview:

The AMX Metreau keypads can be used with MUSE controllers, but the setup can differ from a Touchpanel.

Guide:

The Metreau (MET) keypads do not have “listen” mode, and their default connection mode, NDP, is not supported by MUSE. 

It is not possible to add it by using com.amx.thing.icsp driver to the MUSE.

Setting up the system connection parameters in the MET keypad

Steps:
-    Reset the MET to factory settings if the IP isn’t known (see Metreau manual)
-    Set telnet to the MET’s IP address
-    SET DEVICE to give a NetLinx device address to the keypad
-    SET CONNECTION - use TCP or UDP as connection type, and use the MUSE controller’s IP address as master.

Now the MET keypad will connect to the MUSE controller (no adding of the device required in MUSE).

In this connection mode, the device name in MUSE will automatically become “AMX-xxxxx”, where xxxxx is the device address given to the keypad.
e.g. if the MET was given device address 15001 (SET DEVICE 15001), it comes up in the MUSE as “AMX-15001”  

How to get to the Keypad’s Telnet Console

You can use Netlinx Studio to find and telnet the keypad.
When the keypad is in factory setting  (NDP mode), connect Studio to the MUSE controller, and read the online tree. 
The keypad should be shown as “unbound NDP device”.

Steps:

• Right click to the MET, select “telnet window”
• “launch TELNET window via NetLinx Studio” - you get to the MET console 
• Options/commands:
  -    GET DEVICE: to read the current device number
  -    SET DEVICE: to set the device number
  -    GET CONNECTION: to list the current master connection parameters
  -    SET CONNECTON: to set the master connection parameters
  -    GET IP: shows the current IP settings of the keypad
  -    SET IP: sets/changes the IP parameters
