Overview: Events in a Soundweb London Device: Preparations: Collecting Events Manually:

Overview:

This article will cover using HiQnet London Architect to pull Event Logs from a Soundweb London device.

Events in a Soundweb London Device:

Events are generated inside a Soundweb London device. Each event is allocated with a number and with the time and date from the internal real time clock in the device. These events are stored in the internal flash memory and will not be lost when the power is disconnected. The memory reserved for events is of a fixed size. The oldest events will be discarded when the memory is full.

Events can be collected by London Architect and viewed as a list in the Event Log window. Events will be collected from all devices in the design. Events are deleted from the device's memory once they have been collected by London Architect.

London Architect also generates events. These will be listed in the Event Log with the events from the Soundweb London devices. The Event Log can display 10,000 events. London Architect will create Event Log archives when this number is exceeded.

Events are collected from Soundweb London devices automatically every few minutes. London Architect must be in Online Mode. Events will not be collected when London Architect is in Design Mode or in Operate Mode.

The Event Log can be used for troubleshooting and for keeping a historical record of specific events e.g. Parameter Preset recalls, network status changes and custom events.

Preparations:

Ensure that the Soundweb London devices are connected to the network and present in the Ethernet folder in the Network window.

Collecting Events Manually:

  1. Click the button on the right-hand side of the Network window: Get Events from Devices Now.

London Architect will request the events from all the Soundweb London devices.
The Refresh List button on the left-hand side will turn green. This indicates that some events have been collected.
  2. Click the button on the left-hand side: Refresh List

The events which have been collected will now appear in the Event log.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 several times until the left-hand icon remains grey. Not all of the events are collected the first time. The process must be repeated until there are no more events to collect.
  4. Save the design file immediately. The events will be stored in the design file for later viewing. The events will be lost if London Architect is closed or if another design file is opened without saving.
