FAQ:
1. If the speaker is idle or below min. threshold, how long does it take before it goes into standby/bypass mode?
It will take 5 hours to enter standby/off mode. The power flow chart is like this: If BT connected and idle, it would take 20min to enter sleep and enter off mode for further 5 hours. If BT not connected, it enters off mode for 5 hours idle if no analog audio signal.
2. What is the minimum threshold for keeping the speaker awake?
Without any signal for 20 minutes to the amp, it will go in to STBY mode (sleep), when input signal goes above -11.8dbu with tolerance +/- 1db. The amp needs more than 10mW output to keep the speaker awake.
3. If in standby mode, is it true that you can only wake the speaker up by manually twisting any knob or pressing the bypass button?
If BT connected and enter standby mode, the way to wake up is BT streaming audio signal or by pressing power key.
If BT not connected and enter OFF mode, the only way to wake up is to press power key.
4. Is there any way to disable the auto standby function?
Try the following steps (User guide here, page 15)
Sleep (Auto On/Off)
The IRX100 has a Sleep feature to help maintain the life of the speaker and conserve energy.
To enable/disable the Sleep feature:
• Ensure the speaker is powered OFF.
• Press and hold the Power button for 5s until LEDs flash.
• If Sleep is disabled, the Power LED will light solid for 3s.
• If Sleep is enabled, the Power LED will blink for 3s.
Important Note: If there is no LED response from the speaker when attempting this process it means it has an old firmware and will require a firmware update (this update can only be done by an Authorized Service Center, for a locator click here).
