File Won't Load in TPDesign
Question:
Why won't my touch panel file open in TPDesign?
Answer:
- The file cannot import certain elements such as fonts. This may be because TPDesign does not have permissions into particular system folders. The remedy is to run TPDesign as an administrator. Right-click on the program to select "Run As Administrator". You can also change this to run all the time in the properties of the executable file.
- The file is actually for another version of TPDesign. Example: NetLinx Studio was set to download a TP4 file but from a G5 panel and vice-versa. Studio does not care and just gives it a TP4 extension when in fact it should be ".TP5". These G4 and G5 files are very different and will only open in their respective programs (TPDesign4 and TPDesign5).
- The file is legitimately corrupted. If the file was downloaded from a touch panel, try again. If the file was not originally pulled from a panel and the panel already has a similar file, then try to download it from the panel. If all this fails, send Tech Support the file and perhaps we can get it opened and re-saved.
- The file is password protected. Please reach out to the original programmer for an unlocked version.
