Question:
Why are Inputs and Outputs from Mixer Not Available or Not Working in Audacity?
Either you can not even see the mixer's ins and outs, or you select them and they do not work.
Answer:
Audacity does not support ASIO audio.
Soundcraft mixers all use ASIO audio to stream between the mixer and computer. This requires our special ASIO driver for Windows machines. MAC machines support ASIO natively. Audio Stream Input/Output (ASIO) is NOT supported in Audacity. Unlike other audio formats that have encoders to download for Audacity (like the Lame encoder for MP3), because ASIO is proprietary to Steinberg, and a licensing fee must be paid to use it, Audacity will not allow a plugin to be created as they are GNU License (free, open source) software.
