Overview: Network Status Monitoring with Device Monitor Logic Object: Fault Event Monitoring with the Event Monitor Logic Object: Using the Event Monitor and Device Monitor in Combination:

Overview:

A number of Crown amplifier models can be monitored for faults and network status using the Logic Configuration of a Soundweb London device.  These include: DCi, I-Tech, CTs 4200 and 8200 with MC accessory module, CTs 2-channel models with Pi P Lite, USP3 and USP3CN accessory modules, JBL VERTEC Drive Pack DP-AN and DP-CN amplifier modules.

The Device Monitor and Event Monitor Logic objects can be used singly or in combination to fulfil the desired monitoring requirements.

Network Status Monitoring with Device Monitor Logic Object:

The Device Monitor provides a mechanism for a Soundweb London device to poll a device periodically across the network.  The Device Monitor will send a polling message to the device being monitored at the time interval defined by the Property: Poll Time.  The Logic output of the Device Monitor object will be high when the Soundweb London device receives a response from the device being monitored.  The Logic output of the Device Monitor will be low when the Soundweb London device does not receive a response within the time defined by the Property: Timeout.  Further details on the Device Monitor can be found in the Audio Architect and London Architect Help.

Fault Event Monitoring with the Event Monitor Logic Object:

The Event Monitor provides a mechanism to subscribe to specific fault events generated by a Crown device.  The Logic output of the Event Monitor will go high when an event is received by the Soundweb London device in real time.  The Logic output will return to a low state after the time defined by the Property: Hold Time.
Further details on the Device Monitor can be found in the Audio Architect and London Architect Help.  A list of faults with their corresponding Event ID is available in the Downloads section of this article.

Using the Event Monitor and Device Monitor in Combination:

The Event Monitor will only show fault events when connected to the device being monitored.  The Device Monitor should be used in combination with the Event Monitor to ensure that the device being monitored is connected and able to receive fault events.  The Event Monitor and Device Monitor can be integrated into the Logic Configuration as required.

The individual outputs from the Event Monitor can be used separately or could be combined into a single output.  The example below uses an OR Logic object.  The output of the OR Logic object will go high if any of the Event monitor outputs go high.

The Device Monitor can be used separately or could be combined into a single output.  The example below uses OR and NOT Logic objects.  The output of the OR Logic object will go high if any of the Event monitor outputs go high or if the Device Monitor goes low.
