Can I connect two Stageboxes to a single Si or Vi console?
Answer:
Yes, you can connect two Stageboxes to a single Si or Vi console, but ONLY if there are two MADI I/O cards in it. Every Stagebox requires a separate MADI I/O card.
The consoles that have two I/O card slots are:
Si Impact, Si Performer 1/2/3, Vi1000, Vi2000, and Vi3000. In the Vi1 there is only one D21 card slot, thus you can connect it to only one Stagebox. You can also have more MADI I/O cards in the Local Racks. The local MADI port of the Vi1000, Vi2000 and Vi3000 consoles is not compatible with Stageboxes.
You need to pay attention to having the same connection type on the console cards and the connected Stageboxes (ie: CAT5 to CAT5, Optical to Optical).
You can use a CAT5 MADI card in one slot and an Optical MADI card in the other slot at the same time if you wish to do so, however, you must use MADI HD cards in the Stageboxes.
