The Power Button State of the Vi Consoles

Why is the POWER button on the Vi console blinking red, green or solid?


Answer:

There are 5 states of the LED power button.

  1. No color indicates that either both power supply units IEC cables are unplugged or the rocker switches are not in the active state and therefore the power button has no LED lights.
  2. Blinking red LED indicates one power supply unit is active with the rocker in the on state with the console or control surface in the off state.
  3. Blinking green LED indicates both power supply units are active with the rockers in the on state and the console or control surface is in the off state.
  4. Solid red indicates the console is powered on, but only one power supply is providing power to the console or control surface while the unit is powered on.
  5. Solid green indicates the console is powered on with both power supplies providing power to the console or control surface while the unit is powered on.
