System Presets & Machine Presets Tutorial for the PCM92

​​​​This tutorial video explains the differences between "System Presets" and "Machine Presets" within the Lexicon PCM92 Reverb and Effects Processor.​

in this tutorial video we're going to
show you the difference between system
presets and machine presets in the TCM
92 each factory preset on the PCM 92 has
one or more machines associated with it
a single machine can hold one type of
effect at a time let's start with an
empty system preset to see how this
works
click the back button until you're in
the preset category selection menu here
you'll select default configurations by
pressing the Select encoder you can also
use the Select encoder to scroll to the
configuration that you want for this
example scroll to cascade stereo
configuration and press select notice
the icon in the upper right hand corner
there are two machines in this system
preset which means you can load two
effects the box around the icon shows
that we're in the system menu to load a
machine will need to be in the machine
menu to do this press the Machine button
once
notice that the machine icon is now
highlighted and it says machine one is
empty press back to select which type of
effect you want to load into machine one
choose medium plate for this example by
scrolling down and pressing the Select
knob scroll over to medium plate one
dark and press select you now have a
dark medium plate loaded into machine
one of the Cascade stereo configuration
now you can load the second effect into
machine to press the machine button once
and you'll see machine two highlighted
press back to select which type of
effect you want to load into machine to
choose effects delay for this example by
scrolling down and pressing the select
knob
scroll over to simple stereo delay and
press select you now have a simple
stereo delay loaded into Machine 2 of
the Cascade stereo configuration now
press the Machine button once and store
this preset to user memory by pressing
the store button use the a knob to
change letters and use the Select knob
to scroll to a different column press
select and choose where you would like
to save it let's run a drum kit through
the PCM 92 to show you how the effects
of this system preset with a dark mutant
plate and simple stereo delay will sound
here's the drum kit with no effects
added now here's that same drum kit with
the dark/medium plate and simple stereo
delay added if you have multiple system
presets save you can quickly switch
multiple machines at once by switching
to a different system preset in short
system presets will allow you to switch
multiple machines at once machine
presets allow you to switch individual
effects within a single system preset
