How to troubleshooting AMX programs.

Program does not seem to be running:

  • Make sure dipswitch #1 is off.
  • Telnet to the master and type:  PROGRAM STATUS.  You want to see ENABLED for both options. If not change to enabled and REBOOT.
  • Connect to Master asap and ENABLE DIAGNOSTICS to watch the master boot up and watch for errors.

Module is not working:

  • Enable DIAGNOSTICS in Netlinx studio.
  • Send command DEBUG-4 to the modules virtual device then REINIT.
  • Watch DIAGNOSTICS.

Finding a RUNTIME error:

If the error lists a name: (variable or constant) - use the tool FIND IN FILES in Netlinx studio under TOOLS to find all instances of it throughout all files that are part of the workspace. (or more precisely - that are in the folder and sub folders selected)
