Question:
Why is control of a biamp Tesira not working?
Answer:
There are 3 common reasons why control may not work:
- The Duet module (Biamp_Tesira_dr1_0_0.jar) will not initialize if there is ANY error in the subscription process.
Confirm all subscriptions tie to a real Instance Tag and the correct Attribute is defined. Both of these are case sensitive. Refer to the documentation and examples in the Duet download for additional information. - RS-232 control may be configured incorrectly on the Tesira.
The Tesira's serial port should be set to TTP (Tesira Text Protocol). On a Tesira SERVER, the default settings are:
Serial-1 - Command String, 9600
Serial-2 - TTP, 115200 - A custom program, if not using the DUET, is only making a raw telnet connection.
If communicating via telnet with a custom program (not using the Duet module), telnet handshaking must be handled by the program. Here is an article which explains the process and provides a NetLinx code example: Telnet Connections May Require a Handshake
