Question:
How do I update firmware on a Muse controller via USB?
Answer:
- Place the firmware .swu file on a FAT32 formatted USB drive
- Insert the drive in to the Muse controller
- Using Putty or another program capable of SSH or RS232 if using the USB-C program port, connect to your Muse
- Once at the adminh@mojo()> prompt, type “usb” and press enter
- The prompt should change to be admin@mojo(usb)>
- At the new prompt
- Type “platform:firmware-list” and press enter
- note the index number of the file you want to use for the upgrade
- Type “platform:firmware-update <index number>” and press enter
- The Muse prompts for Update firmware? [Y/N]
- Type “y” and press enter
- Type “platform:firmware-list” and press enter

- The Muse will take several minutes to download the file off the USB drive, prep the file, and reboot to implement the firmware
- There are no updates in the CLI during this process
- Please be patient and wait for the controller to reboot
- Once the controller has finished rebooting and upgrading, the new firmware version will be reflected in the Muse web pages or by connecting via SSH and typing “version”
