Question:  

How do I update firmware on a Muse controller via USB?

Answer:

1. Place the firmware .swu file on a FAT32 formatted USB drive
2. Insert the drive in to the Muse controller
3. Using Putty or another program capable of SSH or RS232 if using the USB-C program port, connect to your Muse
4. Once at the adminh@mojo()> prompt, type “usb” and press enter
   1. The prompt should change to be admin@mojo(usb)>
5. At the new prompt
   1. Type “platform:firmware-list” and press enter
      1. note the index number of the file you want to use for the upgrade
   2. Type “platform:firmware-update <index number>” and press enter
   3. The Muse prompts for Update firmware? [Y/N]
      1. Type “y” and press enter

6. The Muse will take several minutes to download the file off the USB drive, prep the file, and reboot to implement the firmware
   1. There are no updates in the CLI during this process
   2. Please be patient and wait for the controller to reboot
7. Once the controller has finished rebooting and upgrading, the new firmware version will be reflected in the Muse web pages or by connecting via SSH and typing “version”
