Question:
What is the firmware BOOT upload procedure in the MAC Encore and MAC Quantum series?
Answer:
BOOT firmware upload is used in the case USB and normal DMX firmware upload is not responsive.
Procedure:
Tools:
- Martin Companion cable and software installed on a PC for the firmware upload.
- Torx25 screw driver.
Accessing the BOOT upload switch:
- Power OFF the fixture.
- Remove the two Torx25 screws front and back on the base cover covering the display.
- The switch to enable BOOT mode is located on the display PCBA at the top just above the buttons and next to the connectors.
- Gently push the switch to the left to enable BOOT mode.
- To check if BOOT is enabled power ON the fixture and the display will show “MODE: BOOT SWITCH"
- Now follow the upload process given in Martin Companion.
- After the upload is done power OFF the fixture and push the BOOT mode switch to the right to deactivate BOOT mode and make the fixture able to reset normally.
- Re-install the base cover.
