  • DMM8 UL Automatic Mixer
  • DMM8 ULD Automatic Mixer

What are the functional differences between DMM8 U, UL and ULD models?

All share the same DSP engine; UL adds a LAN port for web control, ULD adds both LAN control and full Dante network audio.

What does the USB port do?

It acts as a class‑compliant stereo sound card, streaming two channels in both directions for playback or recording.

Within what ambient temperature can the DMM8 operate?

The specified safe operating range is 0 °C to +50 °C with 10–90 % non‑condensing humidity.

How do I route channels to the RCA record outputs?

Activate Routing to REC per input; lit LEDs confirm a channel is feeding the fixed‑level RCA pair.

How much louder does a priority channel appear to automix logic?

Marking a channel as Priority gives it a 6 dB weighting advantage, so it opens first

How much mains power does the DMM8 draw?

Its universal supply consumes up to 75 W from 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz.

What phantom‑power spec do the inputs meet?

Every input can supply 48 V at up to 10 mA through dual 6 .8 kΩ feed resistors.

How much acoustic delay can I set on the main outputs?

OUT L and OUT R each provide up to 75 m of delay in 1 m steps.

What range does the input low‑cut cover?

The second‑order high‑pass sweeps from off (0 Hz) up to 300 Hz in 20 Hz increments.

How far can I lower the output limiter threshold?

The limiter is adjustable from +20 dBu down to –25 dBu in 3 dB steps.

Can I set up the mixer from a browser?

UL and ULD versions host an embedded web interface for configuration, metering and diagnostics over Ethernet.

What is the gain range on each channel’s rear‑panel trim?

Rotating from fully counter‑clockwise to full clockwise adds up to 57 dB, for a total of 0–60 dB pre‑amp gain.

Does System Control affect the headphone knob?

The HEADPHONE encoder always stays in LEVEL mode regardless of other menu selections.

How many graphic EQ bands are available on the stereo outputs?

Twelve half‑octave bands can be boosted or cut ±14 dB via the front‑panel knobs.

Which audio is sent to Dante on the ULD model?

All six processed inputs and both stereo sums are published as 24‑bit/48 kHz transmit channels on the network.

What compression ratio is used on inputs?

The channel compressor is fixed at 2:1 with a threshold adjustable from +20 dBu to –25 dBu.

How large a system can I build by cascading DMM8 mixers?

Up to ten units may be linked, creating 60 inputs, 20 outputs and 10 headphone jacks under one automix.

Which elements make up the built‑in automix algorithm?

The DSP combines Dynamic Level Adjustment, Best‑Mic‑On selection and Noise Detect to keep only dominant mics open.

How many analogue sources can one DMM8 accept?

Each unit provides six balanced XLR mic/line inputs with switchable 48 V phantom power.

Can I attach a wall‑pot to fade the system?

Yes, a 50 kΩ linear potentiometer on the VCA Phoenix port controls both stereo sums simultaneously.
