Summary:

Some systems using P3 with sACN input may experience intermittent issues after long runtime or during show changeovers, including MAC Aura PXL fixtures forcing CTO to maximum, fixtures producing no light output despite pan/tilt control still working, or P3 temporarily stopping reception of sACN data.  Recovery typically requires restarting the P3 system and resetting affected fixtures through P3.

The issue was investigated and addressed in newer fixture firmware releases, introduced in MAC Aura PXL firmware 1.5.1 and MAC Aura XIP firmware 1.3.1.

Troubleshooting:

Fixture symptoms:

• MAC Aura PXL fixtures unexpectedly shift to full CTO.
• One or more fixtures stop producing light output, while pan and tilt still respond.
• A normal DMX reset does not recover the fixture.
• Resetting the fixture through P3 restores output or correct color behavior.

P3 symptoms:

• P3 suddenly stops receiving sACN during or after a changeover.
• Restarting P3 restores sACN reception.
• After restarting P3, some fixtures need to be reset through P3 to restore correct colors.

If you come across similar behaviour, then update the fixtures firmware to the latest release.
