Overview:

The JBLPOLE-MA and JBLPOLE-GA are adjustable M20-threaded speaker poles designed for mounting full-range loudspeakers above compatible JBL subwoofers.  Both models utilize heavy-duty 6000-series aluminum tubing, metal die-cast locking collars, and an M20 x 2.5 threaded base for a secure connection to compatible subwoofers.  The primary difference between the two models is that the JBLPOLE-GA incorporates an internal pneumatic gas-assist mechanism to reduce the effort required when raising or lowering a loudspeaker.

How does the Gas Assist work?

The JBLPOLE-GA contains an internal pneumatic cylinder that helps raise and lower the loudspeaker.

Gas Assist:

  • Reduces lifting effort
  • Improves installation safety
  • Helps control speaker movement during adjustment

The gas assist is most noticeable with speakers weighing 35 lb (16 kg) or less, although it also reduces effort with heavier speakers up to the maximum load rating.

Which Speaker Pole Is Right for Your Loudspeaker?

The JBLPOLE-GA is recommended for customers who frequently set up and tear down their sound system.  Its gas-assisted mechanism makes it easier and safer to raise and lower speakers, reducing lifting effort and helping minimize the risk of accidental damage during setup.  It is an excellent choice for mobile applications, rental companies, and event production.

The JBLPOLE-MA is a great option for permanent or occasional setups where speaker height is rarely adjusted.  It provides the same load capacity and compatibility as the JBLPOLE-GA at a more economical price, making it ideal for customers who prioritize value over the convenience of gas-assisted lifting.

IMPORTANT:

Both the JBLPOLE-MA and JBLPOLE-GA use the standard 35 mm speaker pole size, compatible JBL speakers will seat securely on the pole.  A slight amount of movement is normal with any pole-mounted speaker, but the fit should be stable and should not feel loose or unsafe when properly installed.
