Question:
What impedance indicates a speaker line short?
Answer:
For current Crown amplifiers as of 2025, a speaker line impedance of 1Ω (one Ohm) or lower is considered a short circuit.
This is the same whether the amplifier output is set to Hi-Z or Lo-Z mode.
If the amp is connected to Audio Architect when the fault occurs, you will see a corresponding error message in the AA log.
Troubleshooting Tips
If a speaker line impedance measures too low, inspect for:
- Damaged cabling or connectors
- Faulty speaker components
- Incorrect wiring or load configuration.
