Exterior Wash Pro XL: Fixtures Do Not Switch to Standalone Mode After DMX Signal Loss
Table of Contents
Brand:

Affected Products:
- Exterior Wash Pro Family
Summary:
Some Exterior Wash Pro XL fixtures failed to enter “Standalone” mode when the DMX signal was lost. Investigation revealed that the OFFLINE_MODE parameter could unexpectedly change from StandAlone to BlackOut or Null, preventing the programmed fallback scene from executing. The issue was reported on a small number of fixtures and could not be consistently reproduced in the lab.
Troubleshooting:
Check the fixture's “Offline mode” setting using Martin Companion or an RDM controller. If the fixture is intended to run a fallback scene when DMX is lost, “Offline mode” must be set to Standalone. According to the product behavior settings, a fixture configured for Standalone will automatically run its programmed standalone scene when no DMX signal is present.
To verify operation, ensure a standalone scene has been programmed, then remove the DMX signal. If the fixture correctly starts the programmed scene, it is operating as expected. If the fixture instead remains dark, does not start the programmed scene, or behaves as though it is in Blackout mode, check the "Offline mode" value again. Affected fixtures may show Blackout or Null instead of Standalone, preventing the fallback scene from running.
Internal testing was completed successfully with no further issues.
The fix was released in Exterior Wash Pro firmware v1.1.1 and made available through Martin Companion in June 2026.
Update affected fixtures to firmware v1.1.1 or later.
