How to Match Crown Dante Firmware to DCiDA amplifiers

DO NOT INSTALL Harman International Dante firmware on a DCi DA amplifier!
If Dante Updater prompts you to install Harman International Dante firmware, do not proceed. Follow the steps below to locate and import the Crown Dante firmware and install it using Manufacturer Override.
Once this is done, the problem will not occur again.

How to Allow Imported Firmware and enable Manufacturer Override in Dante Updater
Revealing the hidden feature
Starting in 2025, Dante Updater must be started with a command-line switch to access the Manufacturer Override checkbox.
If running on Windows: In a Command prompt use "C:\Program Files\Audinate\Dante Updater\Dante Updater.exe" --allow-override to start the program.
If running on MacOS: In Terminal use /Applications/Dante\ Updater.app/Contents/MacOS/nwjs --allow-override to start the program.
Dante Controller Advanced Settings
- In the upper right corner of Dante Updater, choose Advanced Settings:

- Choose Allow Imported Firmware only, if upgrading the firmware on a DCi DA amplifer with Crown/Dante firmware.
- To rollback to a previous version, choose the Allow rollback to previous versions.
Warning:
Earlier versions of firmware may not be compatible with newer hardware and may cause unforseen problems.
- If the amplifier has Harman International/Dante firmware, choose Allow override of device matching. This will check all the boxes on Advanced Settings. Then press Apply:

- Choose Library in the menu bar at the top of Dante Updater.
- Search for Crown in Audinate Library Files sectionDante firmware update manager.
Download the files found using the Status column, then choose Copy To Local on the right.
How to find and import the Crown firmware from your local file system
- Choose Library in the menu bar at the top of Dante Updater.
- Choose the Imported Files section, expand the section and choose Import Firmware.

- Drop in or select the file you wish to import.

- If you have multiple DCi models, you may wish to import both the DCI4x1250/DCi8x600 file and the DCi4x600/DCi4x300/DCi8x300 versions of the file. The only difference in the two is the order of the Dante Primary and Secondary ports.

How to download the imported firmware to the amplifier
- Choose Home, then Imported Firmware files. Choose the appropriate file for your amp, then press Override and update the selected device.

- After the update completes, reboot the amp. This may be done by cycling power or via Audio Architect by using the Tools menu/Reboot/This Device Only or All Devices of this Type on the amplifier's Device Panel.
