Changing Wi-Fi Channels on the Ui Series Mixers
Video Manual Series
This video provides a walkthrough of how to change Wi-Fi channels for the Ui series of mixers. Losing connection to your mixer at the worst times can be frustrating, so today we show you how to analyze Wi-Fi bands around you and change the mixer's channel to a less congested Wi-Fi band.

Hello, and welcome back to the Soundcraft Ui video manual series. Today, we’re going to talk about changing your mixer’s wifi channel to increase the stability of the wireless connection to your mixer. Let’s get started.
The Ui series of mixers can select the wifi channel that it operates on, but does not do so automatically. If you’ve found yourself losing connection to the mixer at a gig, then changing the channel could help. First, we recommend researching and downloading a third-party app that will scan wifi frequency bands. You can find free apps available for both desktop and mobile devices. I ran a scan and here we can see the results of some networks that are close by. In the mixer’s settings, and under the network tab, we can see the mixer’s hotspot information, including the wifi channel. This mixer is set to channel 9. If we refer to our graph, we can see that channel 9 has a lot more activity than some of the other channels that are close to me.
Let’s change the channel that our mixer is using. Select the Config button in the Network Settings. Enter the admin username and password. The default is admin for username and password. If you’ve lost or forgotten the password, check out our reset videos for information on how to reset the mixer. Once in the network config settings, select the Hotspot Configuration tab. Here at the bottom, you will see the drop-down menu for the wifi channels. Based on our scan from earlier, a good channel for me to use might be 3 or somewhere down here with lower activity. Ui24’s will also have access to 5 gigahertz channels, sacrificing some range for even less interference. After selecting a new channel, tap the save/update button. Finally, power your mixer down for at least 15 seconds, then power it back on again. You may need to forget the mixer from your device’s wifi hotspots and reconnect to the mixer after making any network changes.
