In this video, we introduce the AVX Control application, the powerful tool for controlling and monitoring AV systems using custom interfaces built in AVX Architect. You’ll learn about the default state of the app, explore basic settings, and see how to clear panels and reset the app for a fresh start. This is the perfect starting point for anyone new to AVX Control.

Transcript
We’re going to quickly introduce you to the AVX Control application, which enables easy access to the custom UI’s built in AVX Architect for controlling and monitoring devices across multiple platforms. The AVX Control app can be installed with the AVX Suite or as a standalone application. Check out the videos on installing for more information.
When launched, the default state of the app will show the AVX Control logo and a message that says “Waiting to receive control panel”. Clicking on the hamburger menu in the top-left corner will show all the available options. Under the HControl section, you will see the name of the HControl panel. In this case, the default is the computer’s name. This can be changed by selecting the Settings option. Here, we can change the name of the control panel, as well as the location. Location is just a text field that is used to identify this specific panel. You can also lock these settings so that they can’t be changed without the administrator password set here. Click “Save”, and we’ll see the device name has updated with the location in the hamburger menu.
“Restart HControl” will simply restart the whole application and any panel file that’s loaded to it. “Remove Panel” will take us back to the default state of waiting to receive a panel from AVX Architect. Finally, “Factory Reset” will reset the panel, remove any panel files, and also default the name of the panel. End user license agreements and Credits for the various subsystems can be found at the bottom of the hamburger menu.
That’s all for this AVX Control introduction. We’ll cover deploying panels to AVX Control in the upcoming videos.
