Right-Click Menus | AVX Architect

Video Manual Series

Written by Tony Smith

Updated at October 30th, 2026

This video explores right-click sensitive menus in AVX Architect, which present different options depending on the view you’re in or the object you’ve clicked. You’ll learn how these menus can speed up navigation and help you manage system designs more efficiently.

Transcript
In this video, we’re going to cover context sensitive right-click menus. In AVX Architect, a right-click can present you with different menus and options, depending on what view you’re in and what you’ve clicked on. Right now, we’re just going to cover where to find these options, and we’ll cover each of their functions in greater detail in the upcoming videos.
Let’s start with the SYSTEM view. Right-click anywhere in the workspace to quickly add configurable and illustrative devices to the workspace. If you right-click on a single object, you can cut, copy, paste, or delete it; change its z-order with “bring to front” or “send to back”; and create a new preset group, or add or remove it from an existing preset group. If you right-click a collection of selected objects, then you will also see the option for the multiple rename tool.
Next is the VIRTUAL view. Right-click anywhere in the workspace for quick access to the VIRTUAL LIBRARY. Audio and logic processing objects can be found here, as well as annotations and wire tags. Remember that the available objects in the virtual library are affected by the default host. If an Omni Expander is set as the default host instead of an Omni DSP, then less audio processing objects will be available because of the DSP limitations of an Expander. Right-clicking a single object will present us with similar options to objects in the SYSTEM view, but with the added options to edit signal names, and add or remove them from Object Links. Selecting multiple objects will allow you to access the Multiple Rename tool, and selecting multiple objects of the same type will allow you to create a Parameter Link. If you open an object’s factory panel, right-click is only available with selection mode enabled. Selecting a control, you can copy it for pasting in the design view; copy its HControl string to the clipboard; create, add to, or remove from Preset Groups; and create, add to, or remove from Parameter Links.
Finally is the UI DESIGN view. You must have a custom panel or controller in the system to access the right-click menus in the UI DESIGN view. Right-click in a custom panel workspace to paste the clipboard contents onto the workspace. Right-click on selected objects will allow you to copy, cut, or duplicate it; lock the object from being edited or hide it completely; group multiple objects with the Group or Make Selection options; change an objects z-order with the options move objects back and forward; delete the object, and unbind any parameters from the object.
