Fader - Common Controls | UI Design View - AVX Architect
In this tutorial, we cover the Fader object in the UI Design view of AVX Architect. The Fader is perfect for continuous control parameters like gain or frequency cutoff points. Learn how to add a Fader to a panel, assign parameters, and customize its look and feel to create intuitive and professional user interfaces.

In this video, we’ll continue to explore the Common Ui elements of the UI Design view and look at the Fader. The Fader is found in the Control Library section of the UI Design view. After a panel has been created, click and drag the Fader from the Control Library into a panel page workspace. This is the default fader, and this exclamation point means that there’s no control assigned yet. Let’s go ahead and assign a parameter to it. In the parameters section of the left pane, expand your devices or use the search function to locate the parameter you’d like to associate with the button. Let’s assign the gain function of this gain object to the button. Click and drag the parameter directly on the button, and the exclamation point will go away.
Let’s look at some of the settings available for the Fader in the properties window. The Fader’s coordinates and size can be changed here, or by directly clicking on the fader and moving it around the workspace and using the handles to resize. Under Orientation, the fader can be switched between vertical and horizontal, and clicking this “Show Scale”, you can display the scale on the left, right, or both sides of the fader. The scale will represent the parameter attached to it, so this scale is showing dB, but this fader that has a frequency parameter attached to it is showing frequency from 20 to 20k.
The Scale section here is the font style, size, opacity, and padding settings for the scale that appears around the fader. The Thumb section is for modifying the properties of the circle on the fader. The color and opacity here, and the “Radius” for making it larger or smaller. The Track section is for adjusting the track or range shown behind the thumb. Color and opacity are available for both the background and the active section of the track, as well as a thickness. Finally, Subrange is for setting a minimum and maximum value of the parameter that the fader will be limited to.
