Region - Common Controls | UI Design View - AVX Architect

Video Manual Series

Written by Tony Smith

Updated at October 30th, 2026

In this tutorial, we explore the Region object in the UI Design view of AVX Architect. The Region object can act as a binary control (on/off) or be assigned the Page Flip parameter for advanced navigation. Learn how to customize the Region’s appearance, and see a practical example where Regions recall zone‑specific controls, making your panels more dynamic and intuitive.

In this video, we’re going to continue covering the UI Design view and look at the Region object. The Region object can be found in the COMMON CONTROLS section of the CONTROL LIBRARY, and is similar to the Rectangle object. A binary parameter like this mute can be bound to it, and On/off states can be set to different colors. If we launch this panel, we’ll see the region change states with the status of the mute.
Let’s talk about what makes the Region object unique. The Region object can have the Page Flip parameter assigned to it. In this example, I’ve set up a control panel page where I’ve created a venue map using the shape objects. I’ve also created three additional pages for some of the rooms that each have their own volume control, and color coded for their respective rooms on the site map.
Add a Region object to the Ui Design workspace, and change its size to be the same as the rooms on the map. Set the Button Type to “Momentary”, and I’m also going to make the color and border transparent for both states of the region. You could also just disable the border here. Now, drag the Page Flip parameter from the Parameters Tree to the Region object. Notice that the Page Flip is now visible in the Parameter Bindings section of the right pane, and we can use this drop-down to select the associated page, Yoga in this case. I know that in this example file, all my rooms are the same size, so I’m going to copy and paste this object for the other rooms. Overlay the Region objects on top of the rooms, and don’t forget to change the Page Flip parameter to the appropriate rooms. Now, let’s launch the panel and see how it works. If I click on the Yoga area, which is our hidden Region object, then it takes us to the Yoga control page. The Back buttons I’ve set to take us back to the home page, and here’s the other Regions taking us to their respective control pages.
