Percentage Converter - Logic Conversion | AVX Architect
In this tutorial, we cover the Percentage Converter object in AVX Architect’s Virtual View, which provides a binary high or low output based on conditions set at the continuous input. Learn where to find the Percentage Converter in the Virtual Library, understand conditions for high and low states, and explore its properties and options for advanced logic control.

In this video, we’re going to continue covering Logic Objects in the Virtual view and talk about the Percentage Converter. The Percentage Converter can be found in the Conversion section of the Logic objects. The Percentage Converter will provide a high output state when conditions set by the configuration are met by the incoming Logic or GPI source. In this example, I have a continuous logic source connected to this Percentage Converter.
Let’s start with the factory panel for the Percentage Converter. I’m also going to open the control for this Logic Source. The factory panel will display the input level at the top. Changing the Logic Source level, we can see this value reflect what’s coming in. The bottom part of the factory panel shows the conditions for the output of the object to be high. It’s telling us “If the input is”, then we select a comparison like “greater than or equal to” and finally set the value in the bottom section here. The value can be set from the fader, by typing the value in directly, or by pressing this “Get from input” button to copy the value that’s currently being read at the input. In this default state, the output will go high if I move the logic source to 50% and above.
This mode of the Percentage Converter is the Compare mode, and the mode can be changed from the Options section of the Properties Window. Here you can also change the “Equality Precision” to determine how precise the comparison is in case the incoming signal has the potential for variance. Let’s look at the Range mode. With the range mode, we now have a Range start and stop, and the output of the object will be high when the input is within the range start and stop. Check out our video on Control Ports and GPIO where we take the Percentage Converter and use it in an application with an external wall controller.
