Import CSV File to Truth Table - Logic Processing | AVX Architect
In this tutorial, we show you how to import .CSV files into the Truth Table object in the Virtual View of AVX Architect. Learn where to find the Truth Table in the Virtual Library, how CSV imports save time when configuring complex logic, and how to set up .CSV files in a different application. This method is perfect for quickly populating large Truth Tables without manual entry.

In this video, we’re going to expand on the Logic Truth Table and quickly show you how to configure a truth table with a CSV file. For this example, I’ve already got a 2 input, 4 output truth table placed in the Virtual View workspace. We already know that clicking this Edit button, we can configure the truth table by manually adjusting these values. In some cases, you may have a very large table that could be troublesome to configure like this. Using a CSV file, we can do the configuring in a program like Excel and import the file directly into our table in AVX Architect.
Let’s set up the table in Excel. First, set up and number the input states. In this case, we have 4 states because the object has 2 inputs, this is because each input has an on and off state. Make sure to start counting from 0. Next, fill out the output states. I’m going to start by making them all 0’s. Let’s make this table the inverse of the table we’ve already got, so I’m going to set these high states descending on the outputs. Now we need to save the file. In Excel, navigate to File, and Save As. Use More Options or Browse to open the naming and location window. Name the file, then make sure to change the “Save as type” to CSV. Save the file, and we’re almost done. Back in AVX Architect, the Truth Table edit window is still up. Click “Import from CSV”. In the pop-up window, point to the CSV file we just created, and click “Open”. Now we can see the values that we set in the CSV file are showing in the Truth Table.
