Gain | Virtual View - AVX Architect
This video covers the Gain object in the Virtual View of AVX Architect, part of a series on audio processing objects. The Gain object is the simplest way to adjust volume level, mute signals, or change signal polarity. You’ll learn gain-specific terminology, explore its factory panel, see where to find it in the Virtual Library, and learn how to add it to your workspace.

. In this video, we’ll continue to explore the Virtual View of AVX Architect and look at the Gain object. The Gain object is found in the virtual view, under the “Mixers/Gains” section of the audio processing objects. The Gain object is the simplest way to adjust volume level, mute, or change a signal’s polarity. In the factory panel, we’ll see one channel shown here by default. Volume level can be adjusted with the fader or by pressing the bump up and down buttons. A channel can be muted by this button below the fader, and the signal polarity can be flipped by this “P” button at the top.
At the top of the factory panel, we have our usual object name, lock button, and selection mode switch. On the right, the “Properties” window has the usual naming, workspace location, and DSP allocation options. The “Options” section contains the usual channel count of the object block. The “Individual Controls” option is on by default. Selecting disabled will remove the individual channel controls. The “Master Controls” option will add a master volume attenuator and mute that affects all the outputs. This can be useful for having a master volume controller over several zones or tying in a fire alarm control to mute all outputs. Finally, we have an option for “Auto-Unmute”. By default, this option is off, and any muted channels will remain muted when the volume level is changed. This can be changed to have the channels unmute either only when the volume is boosted, or when either boosted or attenuated.
