Overview:

This article will cover the basics of programming a Contrio keypad in AVX Architect.

Prerequisites:

  • Soundweb OMNI or MUSE processor with support for HiQnet enabled
  • Contrio Ethernet keypad
  • AVX Architect

Instructions:

  1. Launch AVX Architect and open the project.
  2. Navigate to the UI DESIGN tab.

  3. Select the ‘+’ symbol to create a new user interface.

  4. Choose Add Contrio Keypad

  5. Select the model you are working with and click Create.  For this example we will use the EC-4BV.

  6. An image of the keypad will be showing the controls that can be bound to parameters.

  7. Parameters can be dragged off the PARAMETERS TREE onto the four buttons and the encoder.

  8. Here we are binding the source select Input parameter to the four buttons.

  9. After binding the parameter, selecting the button will show its settings in the PROPERTIES pane.

  10. Inverted and Momentary change the behavior of the button.
On Value is the value the parameter will be set to when selected.  In this example it is input 1 or BGM1.
The ON and OFF colors can be selected as well as the labels and label color.
CONTROL BINDINGS shows the parameter name and path.
  11. Right Clicking on a control will allow you to unblind a parameter.

  12. Continuing on, drag the Gain parameter from the PARAMETERS TREE on to the Unbound ROTARY control.

  13. Drag the Mute to the ROTARY BUTTON control. This is the PUSH action of the encoder.

  14. Finally, bind a meter to the LED RING.

  15. Selecting the ROTARY control will now show the settings in the PROPERTIES pane.  Here the ROTARY BUTTON can be changed from Toggle to Momentary.  The color of the LED RING, ROTARY and ROTARY BUTTON can be changed here.

  16. Selecting the LED RING, ROTARY or ROTARY BUTTON will show their parameter binding in the PROPERTIES pane.

  17. Now that all the parameters have been bound, you are ready to deploy to the keypad.
  18. On the SYSTEM tab select the Keypad. In the PROPERTIES pane select the Contrio Keypad we just created under UI ASSIGNMENT.

  19. Deploy the Project to the system and test your Keypad.
