Description:
The LED object is useful for providing additional visual cues in control panels. The LED object is located in the COMMON CONTROLS section of the CONTROL LIBRARY.

Begin by dragging an LED object into the workspace to observe its default state.

In the PROPERTIES section, the usual naming, workspace location, and sizing options are available. The object can also be manipulated directly in the workspace to move or resize.

The general PROPERTIES also contain the On value, which will be addressed shortly.

Below the general PROPERTIES, the State Styles for the LED are found, where both the On and Off states of the LED can be defined.

For each state, opacity, color, and border settings for the LED can be adjusted.

The LED can be configured to flash by selecting the check box.

In this example, the LED will be associated with the mute button of a Gain object.
The On state will be set to a red color and flashing.

For the Off state, opacity will be reduced so that it is essentially invisible.

Next, the parameter must be attached to the LED. The mute button parameter must be located in the Parameters Tree in the Left Pane.

Once the parameter is found, it should be dragged and dropped from the Parameters Tree onto the LED object in the workspace.

In the Right Pane, the mute parameter will appear under the Parameter Bindings section.

Launch the panel, and the LED will display at zero opacity because the mute is off.

When the mute is turned on, the LED will begin flashing.

Next, observe how the LED can be attached to a multi-state parameter.
This source selector has three inputs and will serve as the multi-state object for pairing.

Locate the source selector parameter in the Parameters Tree, then drag and drop it onto the LED.

The On Value in the General PROPERTIES on the Right Pane will update.
This drop-down menu can be used to select which input will trigger the On state of the LED.

It is currently set to input 3.

Launch the panel, and it will open with input 3 selected and the LED on.

Selecting a different input or state will turn the LED off.

The LED will remain on only for input 3 and off for all others.
One final example involves using an LED bound to a Logic End object. The goal is for the LED to be in the On state when a particular threshold is met. Drag an LED above the fader, which will act as the trigger object.

The On state will be set to an amber color, and the Off state will have zero opacity.

This LED will serve as a warning or caution indicator. Locate the Logic End parameter from the Parameters Tree and drag it onto the LED.

The underlying logic circuit has been configured so that when the fader equals or exceeds a certain threshold, the Logic End object is triggered, which will also turn on the LED in the panel.

Launch the panel, and it will load with the LED in the Off state.

Push the fader up, and once it reaches and surpasses the threshold, the LED will turn on.
